Achilles pain doesn’t mean your running days are over.
That stiffness in the morning. The ache that warms up but never fully goes away. Achilles issues are stubborn—but fixable. Most runners are back to full training in 8-12 weeks.
Sound Familiar?
You’ve Been Managing It, Not Fixing It
Stretching your calves. Heel lifts. Maybe cutting back mileage. It feels a little better, so you run again… then it flares right back up.
Here’s the problem: rest doesn’t fix Achilles tendonitis.
Your tendon got irritated because it couldn’t handle the load you were putting on it. Resting reduces the pain, but it doesn’t build the tendon’s capacity back up. The moment you return to running, you’re back where you started.
- Stiffness or pain first thing in the morning
- Aches at the back of the heel or just above it
- Warms up during a run, hurts after
- Worse the day after running
- Thickening or tenderness when you pinch the tendon
Don’t ignore it: Achilles tendonitis that goes untreated can become a chronic issue that takes months to resolve—or worse, lead to a rupture. Early intervention makes a huge difference.
If that’s you, you’re in the right place.
How We Fix It
Load It Right. Build It Back.
Achilles tendonitis responds to progressive loading—not rest. That’s the foundation of everything we do.
1. Assessment & Staging
Not all Achilles issues are the same. We determine if it’s insertional or midportion, acute or chronic, and how reactive the tendon is. This shapes the entire treatment plan.
2. Gait Analysis
Sensors capture your running mechanics—push-off force, loading rate, ankle mobility. Often the Achilles is overloaded because something else isn’t doing its job. We find it.
3. Calf Strength Testing
Force plate testing measures your calf strength and endurance. Achilles problems almost always involve a strength deficit. We quantify exactly how much and track progress.
4. Progressive Loading Program
Heavy slow resistance, eccentric work, and eventually plyometrics—in the right order, at the right time. This is what actually rebuilds tendon capacity. We keep you running while we do it.
