Certified Orthopedic Manual Therapist (COMT)

Our therapists are trained in- or training for- their Certified Orthopedic Manual Therapy (COMT) credentials in the Maitland Approach (There are only 25 in NJ).

COMT is validated by decades of clinical research, and continues to be validated by ground-breaking new research in highly prestigious peer-reviewed journals. This hands-on technique is used to treat the orthopedic patient to alleviate pain, reduce inflammation, restore movement, and maximize function.

The Maitland Approach is considered the cornerstone of Orthopedic Manual Therapy for the treatment of both Spinal and other joint conditions. This uses primarily the assessment and treatment of the patient’s signs and symptoms to develop an effective treatment plan.

Re-assessment is performed within and after each treatment to validate the effectiveness of the interventions being performed. This results in a better customized treatment plan with faster and more complete recovery. There are no cookie-cutter sessions when being treated by a Certified Orthopedic Manual Therapist.
