Dr. Jackeline Artiles

(OTD, OTR/L)

Dr. Jackeline Artiles, OTD, OTR/L, is an occupational therapist working in pelvic health and hand therapy. Fluent in written and spoken Spanish, she can treat patients in either language. As an OT, she looks beyond the symptom to the life around it: your daily routines, your work, your family. Then she builds treatment around getting you back to all of it, from working out without leaking to lifting your baby without wrist pain. For older adults, she focuses on strength and balance so they can stay steady, active, and independent. She has completed Herman & Wallace’s Pelvic Function Level 1 and is continuing her pelvic health training.

Jackie earned both her bachelor’s degree in psychology and her doctorate in occupational therapy from Kean University. For her doctoral capstone, she partnered with the New Jersey Coalition Against Human Trafficking to develop and deliver survivor-informed training for healthcare practitioners on occupational therapy’s role in recovery. That work shapes the trauma-informed care she brings to pelvic health. She also co-authored a qualitative study on microaggressions experienced by students of color in occupational therapy programs.

She has worked with everyone from kindergartners to older adults. In Newark, she led mental health groups and one-on-one sessions for clients including formerly incarcerated individuals and people experiencing homelessness, addressing community reintegration, daily habits, and roles. In New York City and New Jersey public schools, she evaluated elementary and middle school students, implemented IEP accommodations, and built individual and group treatment plans. At senior social clubs in Elizabeth, she focused on home safety and healthy aging in place. Her hand therapy experience includes specialized evaluations, custom splinting, and rehab for a range of hand injuries.

Outside the clinic, Jackie loves spending time with her husband, son, and dog. She enjoys painting, coloring, and building LEGO sets with her son, and she stays involved in community outreach in Newark.
