Mana Physical Therapy offers telehealth to allow patients who are restricted to their homes to continue to receive instruction and progression of their physical therapy treatment plan, within the safety of their own home.
how does telehealth work?
We will simply send you an e-mail with a link to a video chat with your physical therapist. You can expect to be in a live video chat in as little as 15 seconds.
What does it cost? Medicare has recently implemented full coverage for Telehealth in physical therapy, which they classify as an “E-Visit”. This will allow for 1 visit per week while you are unable to attend in-person sessions. Select private insurance also covers telehealth. Our office will verify your coverage before your session to let you know of any out-of-pocket expenses.
what do I need?
You will need a mobile device with a camera such as a smartphone, tablet, or laptop. The tricky part will be to find a place to anchor your phone or tablet if you will be lying down. You and your therapist will work together to create a comfortable set-up. You might also need items such as a Thera-band which will be determined during your first session.
how is this different from my normal PT?
You will not be receiving hands-on treatment and manual guidance during exercises. Your sessions might be modified to allow safe and proper execution of exercise with the use of only visual and verbal guidance.
