Shin splints don’t have to derail your training.
That burning pain along your shins isn’t something you just “push through.” There’s a reason it started—and we find it. Most runners are back to full training in 4-6 weeks.
Sound Familiar?
You’ve Tried to Run Through It
Rest for a few days. Ice after runs. Compression sleeves. New shoes. Maybe it calms down… then comes right back the next time you increase mileage.
That’s because shin splints are a loading problem—not a shin problem.
Your body is telling you something isn’t handling the stress of running. Usually it’s weak calves, poor ankle mobility, or increasing too fast. The shins just take the hit.
- Pain along the inside or front of the shin
- Hurts at the start of runs, sometimes eases up
- Tender to touch along the bone
- Started when you increased mileage or intensity
- Worse the day after running
Important: Shin splints that don’t improve can become stress fractures. If your pain is sharp, localized to one spot, or getting worse—get it checked sooner rather than later.
If that’s you, you’re in the right place.
How We Fix It
Find the Overload. Fix the Cause.
We don’t just tell you to rest and stretch. We find why your shins are taking the hit and fix that.
1. Rule Out Stress Fracture
First, we make sure it’s shin splints and not something more serious. Specific tests tell us if you need imaging or if we can start treatment right away.
2. Gait Analysis
Wearable sensors show us your loading rate, foot strike, and impact forces. We see exactly where the overload is coming from—often it’s how you’re landing, not how much you’re running.
3. Calf & Ankle Assessment
Weak calves and stiff ankles are the two biggest drivers of shin splints. We test both and find your specific weak link.
4. Progressive Loading Program
We build your tissue tolerance back up—calves, tibialis, foot intrinsics. Then get you running again with a smart mileage plan so the pain doesn’t come back.
